Our business, Air Discovery, is a family owned and operated aircraft charter operation which has been operating from the Bay of Plenty region since 2005 - Providing services from flight training right through to a daily scheduled passenger service.

In December 2009, Air Discovery set up a new operating base at Waiheke Island in Auckland to provide a number of services including;-

  • Scenic Flights around Waiheke Island, Auckland & the Hauraki Gulf
  • Transfer Flights between Waiheke Island and Auckland International Airport, Great Barrier Island and all of the Coromandel - Whitianga, Matarangi & Pauanui Beach.
  • Nationwide Aircraft Charter
  • Aerial Survey and Photography
  • Air Freight

Our Waiheke Island base is located at Waiheke Island Airfield (NZKE, formerly "Reeve's Airstrip") at 129 Carsons Road, which is just up the hill from Whakanewha / Rocky Bay and next door to Ridgeview Estate Vineyard. Here we have a Cessna 206 Stationair 6-Seater (as pictured) and a Cessna 172 4-Seater with others available for use as required.
